I am currently studying for my CDL and I am no stranger to the trucking industry I grew up around trucks and have rode shot gun and help with loading and unloading of trailer's. I am no stranger to Big rigs and I did some 5 ton driving while in the Navy in the 80's I am currently studying for my CDL and need as much help as I can get .. mostly with the behind the wheel time so if there is anybody in the twin cities metro area that might be able to help I would be most grateful

I have my current CDL from my home state of Florida. I have been out of the driver's seat since late October 2009. Anyone can tell me if freight has been moving or not.I left back then because of the shortage of freight and was driving back in the 80's when truck driving seemed less computerized. Anyone can tell me the truth and if there actually is a driver shortage and this time an abundance of freight it would be greatly appreciated.

Just as an FYI for everyone here, I just tried to reserve a room for my husband at Super 8 motel. Was told that the room was going to be $56.99 for a single king bed non smoking... I then asked if they offered a discount for CDL holders and was informed that since he holds a CDL there is no discount, and the price would actually be higher... Diesel average creeps up to $3.856
The national average price of diesel has crept upward the past three weeks, but not by much. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported the average at $3.856, an increase of six-tenths of a cent, for the week ending Monday, Feb. 6.

So I've been in search for work where I can be home every weekend or so but, Everyone wants 1 to 2 years verifiable OTR experience. All I have is 1 yr. local Combination Vehicle.
