THE LIFE OF A TRUCKER 2

I have given some thought to my The Life Of A Trucker Blog post."It is half the battle when you love what you do"(George Burns)Being a truck driver is like being a football player, we don't get the large million dollar contracts and are carriers are as short,and we share a true love for the game, for some us like Dan Bestfelt and myself are time in the field has been cut short.What do drivers like us have after the game is over? We in someways live in the past remembering what we ounce had, my illness has caused me to loose everything I worked for with extensive medical bills well over $50,000 my 401K has been gone for two years and finding work at 48 is not easy. I have been working with MYUSALOADS and USALOADS the brokerage this has kept me within the industry. After 26 years of one lifestyle and new getting used to a new lifestyle is not easy. I have my T-shirt Business that also keeps me busy. I have a great wife and kids I'm truly blessed.I still have my trucking family on operation 18, Life goes on but we miss the game.

Comment by Alvin Lee Catron on July 3, 2012 at 1:29pm: I retired after serious heart problems in 2004 and then in 2005 became a broker agent for one of the brokers I once hauled for and got cheated out of several thousand because not only could he deposit but he could with draw from my bank account and I had multible interests in life so money went without warning and now he is working under different name which I intend to write about eventually but then I became a FRIEND to people I dealt with as a broker agent and then was asked one time to assist if I could in keeping a semi from being repossessed so I succeeded at that and retrieved a pair of semi with trailers and now a home out of forecloser but I take that Times 5 people I have assisted and claim I am kept busy posing as a counsulor of INS immigrants and doing alot to keep myself busy and I wear Rolex and Louis Perchard Watches and receive packages of meat in the mail via UPS and Fed-Ex so that is non-taxable and I love it but I do my work pro-bono anyway..
