Super 8 says truckers are dirty ppl

Just as an FYI for everyone here, I just tried to reserve a room for my husband at Super 8 motel. Was told that the room was going to be $56.99 for a single king bed non smoking... I then asked if they offered a discount for CDL holders and was informed that since he holds a CDL there is no discount, and the price would actually be higher... He was then quoted at $59.99. not much more expensive but when I asked why the price was higher, I was informed that it was higher because TRUCKERS ARE DIRTY PEOPLE! That reservation was cancelled reallllllllllllllllllllllllly quick!

Thanks Crystal, WOW! Truckers are worst then Teens on a Saturday night? I always respect the place I stay at but if Super 8 doesn't respect me then I don't need them. About WalMart, again I respect the place and park out back by the loading docks but some truckers have abused it to the point where some locals got fed up and tossed us. WalMart in Pittston PA (across from the Pilot) was a prime example. They had to do something drivers were wacking 4-wheelers left and right. It's this simple, you have a big truck, you stand out from the crowd and so it's the few pigs in our industry that get us all tagged. Ain't right but........

Also, about parking at walmart... alot of city codes are against it now, they claim 10 trucks in a lot is an eyesore.. BULL SHIT! but I have found that if you go in and nicely speak to a manager and tell them you need to do some shopping and ask if its ok that u park in the back or way out in the front, they usually dont care... BECAUSE U ASKED! which we shouldnt have to do, but when u need a place to park it helps!

Ivan I see your point but one trucker is not ALL truckers.. So therefore they should at least take a look at the driver before raising the rates, or require a deposit, but its not just truckers... Its teens, drinks, hell even celebrities do it.... 

Will, I wrote them, and was told it is now their policy across the country, so writing them didnt get me very far LOL but at least I got to get out some of my anger huh!

 Please don't take this the wrong way. But as truckers we all have seen what a few do when they are at truckstops.Can 10 ft. away and throw the trash out the window.Some drivers have a reason because they are about 150 lbs over weight. I was at a restrant in Boucherville Qc last Thursday and seen along side my truck a total abuse of someones property with the trash left.One item was a Colman cooler.Maybe the motel manager had a bad experence with such people (never Know). Walmarts at one time would let you park in their lots but no more.Take a look at the roadside in the spring and see all the bottles of guess what thrown out the window.I'm starting to take pic of this type of thing and will post them on Operation18 for everyone to see.Maybe that would be a good project for everyone to do.

You should write super8 corporate. We had a nasty experience with FT WALTON BEACH location, I did write corporate. Nothing came of it, but at least that location was put on their radar as bad customer service.
