Super 8 says truckers are dirty ppl

Just as an FYI for everyone here, I just tried to reserve a room for my husband at Super 8 motel. Was told that the room was going to be $56.99 for a single king bed non smoking... I then asked if they offered a discount for CDL holders and was informed that since he holds a CDL there is no discount, and the price would actually be higher... He was then quoted at $59.99. not much more expensive but when I asked why the price was higher, I was informed that it was higher because TRUCKERS ARE DIRTY PEOPLE! That reservation was cancelled reallllllllllllllllllllllllly quick!

We have stayed now two weekends in a row, at the SUPER 8's where we were, no problems, nice rooms, nice folks that run them. Although we are in the north and north east parts of the country, if that makes a difference. We have also stayed at COMFORT and FAIRFIELD with no problems at all.

I told him if he want to see who the piggs were go into the puplic bath rooms and see whoo has more garabage on the floors and shit wrote on the walls and the go into the driver bath rooms and see how clean it was and then tell me who the piggs are

Comment by terry andersen on June 16, 2012 at 9:51am: good for you how abouut some humman rites like being abe to shower at the truck stop for free or letts get treeted like other traveling employs. and have hotels rooms paid every night by the companys the sleeper is not for us but to save the company money no other emply would be expected to live like the trucker does

Comment by Wayne May on April 26, 2012 at 9:33am: I to am out ragged at this kind of rederick. It's flat out wrong that they pin point Drivers as being Dirty People. I know people that are in other businesses that don't smell very sweet either. I drove for many years and have never heard of such a thing as this. Super 8 should be a shammed of themselves for this and should be sanctioned for their behaviour. Word of mouth is likely much better at getting a positive response. Stay safe out there Guys.

It left me speechless! I dont think it was a Super 8 policy, it was probably personal preference, however this specific one has truck parking, so Im not sure how or WHY they said the things they did.. I am still in contact with corporate over this, and trust me, they ARE NOT happy!!!!!
