Nocona Transport

Hello all my fellow drivers,

If any of you have seen an advertisement for a company called Nocona Transport out of Wichita Falls, Texas and thought of applying.....don't. The owner (Jeff) is an ex Swift Trainer and runs his company with a company driver's mentality. They haul Special Commodities such as Slot Machines, Store Fixtures for department stores, equipment for new restaurants, and the like. The load's pay well, but with everything there is a dark side. The truck payments (yes...if you want to work there you have to lease a truck...no way around it), trailer payments (yep...your baby too!), and all other accessorial charges totals $1540 a week.

Here is the problem. The owner will fire you if the sun came up the wrong way and will NOT tell you why you are being let go. He has one of the highest turnover rates in the industry, and he feels it is just fine. He is a liar, and will lie to your face and when you call him on it, you get fired. If you try to make sure that YOU get a paycheck by talking to your dispatcher to make sure that you will earn enough revenue, you get fired. A good number of drivers have been discharged by him (yeah including myself....for questioning the rate on a load) that have not done anything wrong....he just had a bad day and one offhand comment and you are looking for another job. This company is a waste of time and I advise drivers to not even apply with him....you will not last 6 months.
