This is nothing new. This has been a standard part of inspections since I began driving 35 years ago, both roadside and at the scales. The newest part is having to show the long form upon request. Make sure you have a copy of the long form in the truck with you and always have the medical card on your person. You can be cited for leaving you wallet in the truck and having to retrieve it to produce your medical card AND your license (I have seen this first hand). The citation reads "failure to produce documents upon request" even though you do have them. It's a CSA point violation and only effects your CSA score.

No reason to get dinged for this type of violation. Keep it with you!
