I had one of the very first DAF 95's on the road in Britain, in fact it was almost a prototype, we had two and we were basically checking them out on tough runs for DAF. Myself and a friend would run 26 tomes of bricks on triaxle flat beds from Milton Keynes to Bridgewater every night and a day driver woul do the same run. The only persistant fault was the pipe that came out of the compressor had too short a tread and often the air pressure would force them out and strip the threads, as they were in fact prototypes no DAF dealer could touch them and we had to wait hours for some specialist to arrive and fix them, it was a real pain ... but the trucks were amazing rest of the time, they pulled like a train and we actually got them off the clock when empty racing along the M5 and M4.

That was november 1987 ..... memories :)
