FMCSA has agreed to come to MATS this year. This is your chance to be heard on the issue of EOBR machines. This is honestly the last right that we still have, please show up if you can, to help us put this trojan horse where it belongs, back on the manufacturers shelves. Thanks.

I THINK THAT THE ON BOARD LOG BOOK IS GOOD IN DIFFRENT WAYS BY KEEPIN THE DRIVER SAFE AND NOT HAVE TO BE A SUPER TRUCKER TO GET THE LOAD THERE ON TIME ADDING RESTRICTIONS ON HOW HEALTHY THE DRIVER HAS TO BE BEFORE GETTING IN A RIG IS ASS A NINE THE COMPANY NEED TO ADD A HIGHER GOVERN SPEED FROM 58MPH IN SWIFT AND WERNER TRUCKS TO 70MPH AND CHARGE THE CONSIGNEE AND SHIPPER LATE LOAD FEE FOR A DRIVER WAITTING MORE THEN 2 HOURS TO GET LOADED/UNLOADED IF A DRIVER PICK UP TIME IS LIKE 5 AM BY 5:30 HE/SHE SHOULD GET LOADED/UNLOADED BY 8 AM TO GET THE LOAD WHERE EVER IT NEEDS TO BE ON TIME WITHOUT RUSHIN TO GET IT THERE
On board recorders do not keep drivers safe. The real problem is the receivers and shippers who hold drivers up for no reason, and for hours on end. EOBR's allow company personnel to push drivers even when they are tired. That is DANGEROUS ........... period.
YA THE SHIPPER AND RECEIVER DOES HOLD THE DRIVERS UP THATS WHY I THINK THE COMPANY NEED TO CHARGE THEM A LATE FEE OF $500 A HOUR AFTER AN HOUR ON BEING ON THE SHIPPER AND RECEIVER IF THEY DONT LOAD OR UNLOAD THE DRIVER AFTER THE TIME THEY ARE TO BE THERE THEN I BET THAT THEY WILL LOAD/UNLOAD THE DRIVER REAL FAST. THE E-LOG IS ONLY DANGEROUS IF THE DRIVER LET THE FLEET MGR PUSH THEM TO GET THE LOAD THERE NOW WITH THE CSA-2010 THAT DOT IS DOIN IT MAKES T HARD FOR THE DRIVER TO KEEP EVERYTHING IN ORDER ON THERE TRUCK AND TRAILER CUZ THE COMPANY DON'T WANT TO TAKE TIME TO GET THERE EQUITMENT RUNNING AND LOOKING THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSE TO
Pat ......... you and the others who scream charge the shippers will lose each and every time. They are private entities, not run or owned by you. Yes, they use us to move their goods, but it is their buisness. Further, they will find another company or contractor to haul their stuff, without that glory hole charge. Exactly what is happening with the windmill parts and blades now, contracts are going to those who do not charge or charge low rates for detention.
As far as your comment about the drivers not allowing their fleet managers to force them to drive, they will lose loads and most probably they will either fire them or give them as little freight as possible, period. So either way they lose.
Again, EOBR is not about safety. If the FMCSA and DOT officers were actually doing their jobs, not one bit of this would be happening. We all see the duct taped names and signs on doors, fenders hanging off, beat up trucks on the roads, yet hardly see them under that huge platform being inspected. Much less foreign drivers even getting questioned. Slippery slope that even if EOBR does go nationwide, will not change unless they do the jobs they are paid to do and stop trying to regulate drivers to solve the problem. To solve any problem, you have to get to the source, not nitpick and bully the end man ............. that NEVER works.
If any of you had a SET,you would just shut them down and go fishing for a week or two !AND ,YES< I'll shut down anytime you want as long as you know why you're shutting down. Most of you don't know the reason to shut down, you're all gonna be SCUMBAMA slaves !This Industry used to have guys with a SET,now all I see is a bunch of whiners and steering wheel holders !
Looks like what they are doing is finally coming back to haunt them. About time. They will have no choice but to finally get out there to understand what is really going on in the environment they are dictating with their laws and rules.
